Jeremy is recognized as an expert in the social, organizational, and psychological impact of information technology, and the complex interaction among these impacts. He works to help organizations implement information technologies in ways that take account of their concrete organizational context with its human realities and constraints.
He has a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University and has studied computer science at the City University of New York and sociology and philosophy at the University of Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

Developed information systems curriculum for the Pratt Institute (New York)
Author and speaker on information and information-technology literacy and competence (Information Literacy as a Liberal Art)
Active in national organizations (Educause, Coalition for Networked Information) in efforts to use networked information resources and computer networks in higher education
Co-founder of Computers for Social Change conferences in New York (forum for technical assistance to community groups and non-profits)
